Annual Mac-A-Thon Foot Race

Hawai’i Island’s oldest foot race, Keoua Honaunau Canoe Club’s “Mac-A-Thon,” takes place annually the day before Easter. The race start is at 7:00 a.m. The Mac-A-Thon offers distances of 5K or 10K on the old government road that extends from the sacred waters of Honaunau Bay to Napo’opo’o. Each race course is the same, except that the 5K turn-around is halfway into the 10K course. An award ceremony, our famous Mac-Nut Pancake Breakfast (included with entry fee), entertainment, a silent auction, and lots of fun await you and your family at the finish line. Lavaman Waikoloa Triathlon Festival – Waikoloa Beach Resort

The 2nd Annual Lavaman 5K Sunset Fun Run will take place on Friday. Registration will be at Bike Works Beach ‘n Sports at Queens’ MarketPlace at 3pm; race will start at 5pm; music concert to follow race. On Saturday, the Lava Kids Aquathon (swim and run) takes place for kids under 7 thru age 16, along with a Health & Fitness Expo.  Free to the public. The Annual Lavaman Triathlon will be held Sunday at the Waikoloa Beach Resort. This Olympic distance triathlon starts at 7:30am with a 1.5k swim in Anaeho’omalu Bay, continues with a 40k bike on the Queen K Highway and then a 10k run through the resort’s hotel grounds and lava fields, finishing on the beach. (First finishers will reach Anaeho’omalu Bay at 9am.)
